Blue future conquers young studens from Figueira da Foz

The Blue Economy Career Fair – Careers of the Future, promoted by the Mar&Indústria Incubator, caused waves in the school community of Figueira da Foz.

The Blue Economy Career Fair took place at CAE - Figueira da Foz Arts and Entertainment Centre, aimed to foster direct contact between young students from Figueira da Foz and local entities and companies from the various subsectors of the Blue Economy, encouraging them to view these sectors as a viable and stimulating professional career option, giving them the perspective of the potential and innovation they entail.

The event was attended by Isabel Gonçalves, representative of the Blue Circle project, who brought an insight into the professional opportunities and challenges in the sustainable blue economy, followed by businessman, serial entrepreneur and author, David Mergulhão, who impacted the young audience with a talk about “The Fear Factor”.

This was followed by a visit to the representative and expressive exhibition with 17 companies and entities that operate in the various sectors and subsectors of the Blue Economy, where each company had the opportunity to talk about its activity to the students, sharing experiences and visions.

This event is of special interest to our studentse, with a goal of increasing their interest in the Blue Economy and the future professional opportunities they can find linked to this sector. The direct contact between students and projects, entities and companies established and solid in our region was the best ambassador for the students, of what we understand to be a sustainable future for our region.
